The Ascension of the Blues
For the 4 nights of Jan 23-26th, the Throckmorton Theatre
in Mill Valley is the site for Ascension of the Blues, the new
musical written by Jimmy Dillon. With a stellar cast featuring
Dan Hicks and Mz. Dee, this musical promises to not only
entertain but to educate, as it traverses the musical
landscape from slave hollers to the blues to the birth of
Rock and Roll.
For those of you living down by Half Moon Bay, I hope that
you caught Mz Dee singing at Cetrella's on Jan 18th. If you
haven't seen her there, Mz. Dee says the food is great and
the music is real serious. Be sure to check the calendar for

In September, Mz Dee was honored at the Labor Day 10th
Annual Blues and Soul Party in the Park held in Marin City,
when she received an award for being one of the Leading
Ladies of the Blues
